About:

This advanced resuscitation course teaches a provider's critical actions during an adult cardiac arrest during the first 10 minutes. This program highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, care systems, recognition and intervention of cardiopulmonary arrest, immediate post-cardiac arrest, acute dysrhythmia, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes (ACS). You will learn the immediate actions, including adult BLS, when a patient enters cardiac arrest. This is a common credential required by most facilities. Throughout this course, you will learn, practice, and apply the following:

Adult basic life support skills, including effective chest compressions, use of a bag-mask device, and use of an AED
Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest (VF, pVT, PEA, Asystole)
Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions such as symptomatic bradycardia, tachycardia, etc
Basic and advanced airway management
Related pharmacology
Management of Acute Coronary Syndromes (ACS) and stroke
Effective communication as a member and a leader of a resuscitation team
and more...

Audience: All healthcare providers where ACLS is required for their workplace requirement/scope of practice. Additionally, students of healthcare programs (i.e., RN Students, Medical Students, NP Students, PA Students, etc., may also attend this program). If you hold an un-expired AHA ACLS credential, this course is for you.

Before attending this course, you should:

Obtain & read the current 2020 AHA ACLS textbook. The AHA does not permit the loaning/sharing/renting of textbooks. Each participant must have their textbook available before, during, and after the course. (we provide at a discount.)
(Optional) Complete the Online EKG & Emergency Pharmacology course before taking this course. This online course includes all necessary content to pass the pre-test and other ACLS course concepts. Registration is available on the next page. Those with significant experience with ECGs and Emergency Pharmacology may skip this section.
Pass the ACLS pre-test with a score of 70% or higher. Note: the pre-test access code is located inside your account once you register for the course. This link will direct you to the AHA's website; the pre-test provides you with unlimited attempts to pass the pre-test.

Upon completing this course, you will be issued an American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) credential, valid for two years.

To complete this course, you must:

Sign-in on the course roster.
Bring your unexpired AHA ACLS credential to the course.
Bring all the required items below to the course.
Have watched all the videos on the AHA website.
Complete and participate in all stations and discussions.
Pass the written (50 MCQs) with an 84% or higher score.
Complete one mega-code scenario.
Complete the post-course evaluation.

Bring with you to the course:

Your copy of the ACLS textbook.
Pre-test with a score of 70% (or higher).
Copy of your current AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers credential*
Photo ID (i.e., driver's license).

We are not permitted to admit you to the course without these items.

*A BLS card is not required if renewing BLS on the same day as the ACLS course.

Contact hours (nursing): 5.5 continuing nursing education hours are awarded upon successful ACLS renewal program completion.

*Provider approved by the California Board of Registered Nursing (Provider #CEP17561) and Florida Board of Nursing (Provider #50-24286) for 5.5 Contact Hours.

An additional 6.5 contact hours are awarded for completing the ECG & Emergency Pharmacology Course). Up to 12 contact hours can be earned!
